CMA Music Festival celebrates the unique relationship between Country Music artists and their fans in the heart of Music City. The artists participate for free, and on their behalf, CMA donates half the net proceeds of the Festival to support music education through the Keep the Music Playing program.

To date, more than $6.1 million has been donated to purchase musical instruments and supplies, providing thousands of students with the resources and opportunities they could not have afforded on their own, and giving many of them the motivation to remain in school. The total also includes a $1 million endowment for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s Words & Music program, which assists language arts and music teachers with classroom instruction in the basics of songwriting. CMA will announce the donation from the 2012 CMA Music Festival in February.

Featuring concerts, autograph signings, family activities, and more, CMA Music Festival is an unparalleled celebration of America’s music.

In 2012, more than 450 artists performed more than 200 hours of concerts. The event drew a record 71,000 fans daily from all 50 states and 24 nations and for the third consecutive year sold out each nightly concert at LP Field. According to the Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau, direct visitor spending generated by the Festival totaled more than $35 million. CMA Music Festival is a four-time winner of the International Entertainment Buyers Association’s LIVE! Award for Festival of the Year (2004, 2006, 2008, 2010).

CMA Music Festival will once again be filmed for a national television special to air on the ABC Television Network. WordPress Theme Research

Wordpress logoI’m really diving into the WordPress themes and which one would be best to start the site rolling again. I’ve been told that it would be best to use a Genesis backed theme, but their themes are so bland. So, if you have time, help me out. What do you think would be best for Nashville Rocks? Here are some of the themes that I’m looking at as of now:

BIG CHANGES!

Yup, it’s that time. Time for BIG CHANGES for Nashville Rocks. My previous business model (membership based) just did not work without major upgrades and investors and the site was originally built on an outdated CMS that was highly prone to Chinese hackers and issues a plenty. So, what’s next? As you can see now, this is the beginning of a brand new WordPress style website for Nashville Rocks. I’ve just about made the decision on a good template to start with and it will be changing all day and into the weekend and into next week.

My mission will continue to be the same. I will do my best to promote independent music to the best of my ability and help out independent artists as much as possible. I will continue to bring you music news, new artists, music tracks of note, articles from industry professionals and more. I will be bringing you some cool music t-shirts and more music merchandise so you can look cool around town.

Labels and independent managers, booking agents and band members, please send me your press releases, your gig dates, your new track releases, cover art and anything you’d like to promote. I’ll do my best to get you more views for your music videos, help you produce them (I am a video producer by day), and I can help you get audio recordings and live recordings if you need them.

Nashville Rocks is a continual work in progress and I’m always looking for your input into what you think Nashville Rocks should be, so send me your ideas and I’ll do my best to make it happen.

Sincerely,
